Jackdaws: Khan & Kaa

Khan and Kaa came in separately - within 1 day of each other! Both these birds are incredibly skinny and it is a miracle that they made it in to

us. Kaa had cuts to both sides of his beak and struggled to feed himself - he couldn't even gape properly for food as it was too painful for him to open his beak.

Poor Khan has not got the hang of anything! He doesn't gape for food and he doesn't feed himself... We are doing our best to make sure he gets enough into him to give him the energy to do it himself.

These are just 2 of the animals that the fantastic Sue has helped with her kind donation of wet and dry dog food and treats! Thank you so much Sue, we - and the animals here - really do appreciate your support!

Kaa is now pecking at food with a little help from us, so he should soon be completely feeding himself...hopefully! Khan is still being fed by us throughout the day but it also starting to feed himself a tiny bit too.

OUTCOME:

These 2 became the best of friends and got really stressed when they were separated so releasing them separately was not an option for us. They went into our outside aviaries for their release, and even stayed together for a little while after too!
