Parakeet: Zazu

What a wonderful morning!! Zazu came in yesterday - he was in so much discomfort he couldn't sleep but instead fidgeted and made sad

little cheeps throughout the day and night! The food in his crop had become hard and he was struggling to use this storage and also struggling to go to the toilet. He was very swollen!

After a special food concoction and massaged throughout the day and evening - he was looking a little better but we still thought the worst .

3am and more massages to help the food separate so he could digest it and more massages to help him poo.

Morning comes...and what wakes me up?! Zazu standing up and squawking for food!! He has done brilliantly and I can now uncross my fingers

Look how he is growing -

OUTCOME:

Zazu was unable to be released due to the fact he has imprinted, so we chose to find him a forever home where he would be loved and safe. We couldn't even think of the alternative and couldn't be more pleased with how he has progressed. He is so mischievous and knows exactly when he is doing something he shouldn't be doing. He is also now talking, which is amazing!

Look at him now -
