Tawny Owl: Phaidros

This Tawny Owl came in from Next Chapter Rescue in a sorry state. He had been hit by a car and sustained an injury to his eye. After a week on

antibiotics and regular bathing, his eye is looking much better and he is not in any discomfort. He is eating well and jumping up to his perch - which is a great sign.

He couldn't really open the eye when he first arrived, but he is now opening it fully more often which is great.

We have named him Phaidros, which means 'bright' in Greek.

Phaidros, Penny and another Tawny Owl have made their way into our outside run for the final part of their release. We think they are enjoying the brief patches of sunshine too! Excuse the awful photo, it is from our trap camera that is located in the run.

We finally managed to get a photo of all 3 Owls in the run!

All three have now been released on site. They all flew off into nearby trees where they settled for a short while, taking in their new home.
