Volunteers are an essential part of Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue

We are a small charity run totally by volunteers. Our volunteers are dedicated and come from a

wide range of backgrounds. We are always looking for more volunteers to carry out some of the roles below.

Volunteers are an essential part of Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue. Without them, we couldn't continue to help sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Most volunteers work within the animal care team that operates seven days a week - 365 days a year. The main duties are cleaning and feeding and the daily care of our patients.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us with the following roles:

Sometimes we will need to collect an injured bird or animal, usually from someone who is unable to travel to the centre. At the moment, we are unable to provide this service as we simply do not have the resources to do so. Ideally, we would like to establish a network of remotely based collection officers who would be prepared to collect an animal and bring it to us. For example, this could be done one evening a week by several people working as a team and on an ad hoc basis.

As a charity, we are continually fundraising to keep up with our running costs and to enable us to improve our service. We are always looking for new ways to generate funds. We attend many events and always need help. This would be a home-based role with office support, attending events mainly at weekends and holidays. If you are organised and enjoy meeting people please get in touch.

Are you confident in front of a group of people? Why not help us with our educational program by helping with our talks. We receive many requests throughout the year from local schools and community organisations who would like to know more about the wildlife and Harper Asprey Rescue.

If you think that you have the skills to help us then please complete the Volunteer Application Form below. We will contact you to discuss available roles and your skills and interests and invite you to our next volunteer induction day.
