Jackdaw: Blake

Blake was rescued by 2 fantastic people who found him along a main road. Unfortunately, no one seemed to be stopping to help him and the

cars just drove on by trying to avoid hitting him. The lovely lady that took it upon herself to help this little guy told us that he was so close to being hit!

He has two very poorly eyes but is otherwise in good spirits. Although his eyesight is somewhat hindered at the moment, Blake is not letting this affect his appetite and he is managing to eat very well.

Hopefully, the medication and eye drops will kick in quickly and his time with us will be brief. He has such a lovely character - typical of corvids - so we are all falling in love with him and it will be so sad to see him go!

Like we had hoped, Blake made a full recovery and his eyes began to heal. He was released on site from one of our aviaries after spending about a week in it beforehand.
