Help us by raising vital funds for our wildlife.

One way you can help us is to organise your own fundraising events. Each year we need to raise money for equipment, medical costs and food. Our food needs are complex as we need to seek the appropriate diet for a multitude of wildlife. We also need specialist cages to accommodate them during their stay. Each year we treat more and more wildlife.

If you feel able to help us with any type of fundraising or have any ideas please don’t hesitate to contact us. One sachet of cat food feeds a baby hedgehog for a day so every little really does help.  We are a small charity run totally by volunteers. We are a very busy rescue and we rely on the generosity of our sponsors and fundraising events. As we take in more and more sick and injured casualties, we need more specialist cages so that we can give each and every creature the type of environment they need to aid their recovery. We are in the process of expanding our facility and we are always happy for individuals or companies to sponsor cages, aviaries, release sites and essential equipment.

This could be at school, work or at home with family and friends.

Some fundraising ideas…

Why not get your friends and family to sponsor you for:

  • A sponsored walk
  • Ever thought of running a fun run or a marathon?
  • A sponsored silence
  • Organise a  quiz night. To help you along we’ve got some Harper Asprey questions (and answers) to get you started
  • A Cycle Ride
  • Celebrate your birthday by donating to us
  • A sponsored swim
  • A 3-legged walk
  • Doing Chores, e.g. washing up, tidying your room, mowing the lawn…
  • A sponsored car wash
  • Get your friends to donate unwanted books, toys or you could all get together to make cakes and have a table top sale!
  • Why not charge friends to pet sit while they are on holiday or away for the day or walk their dog?
  • Hold a Bring and Buy Sale. You could even theme the sale (e.g. Children Books, Disney)
  • If you are artistic why not sell your skills as an artist?
  • Hold a cake sale
  • If you are good at making things, why not make and sell your creations?
  • How about holding a raffle?
  • Fill up a tube of Smarties with £1 coins (after you’ve eaten all the chocolate of course!)
  • Draw a hedgehog or an owl or any wild animal on a page and stick coins in the body and send to us.
  • Why not arrange a Treasure Hunt, you’d need to work out the clues. You could even make it seasonal if you wanted (Easter Egg Hunt or find the Santa).

OUR CONTACT DETAILS

Our hours are 9 am –  4pm , 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Please call 01344 623106 for advice and to admit a wild animal. Please be patient: If the phone is not answered during this time please leave a message or contact you local vets if it is an emergency.

Please be patient when calling, we may be busy treating a patient.

We apologise in advance if your call is not responded to, we will simply be on another emergency. We work very long hours and we all do our best to support wildlife with passion and dedication. We wish we could but we cannot respond to every wildlife emergency.

Our E-mail: info@hawr.co.uk

We have limited accommodation at the rescue and it is essential that the wild animal is checked in prior to arrival to ensure we have space.
