Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.  Albert Schweitzer

Why volunteer with us?

Volunteering with us can be very rewarding – you will have the opportunity to meet new, like-minded people, be part of a community, build your confidence, learn new skills, take on a challenge and give something back.

How does it work?

We have a range of volunteering roles, something to suit everyone. You don’t need to be a wildlife expert, but we do expect you to care about wildlife and the goals of HAWR.

You must be over 18 years to apply.  You will also need a driver’s licence and transport as the location is not on a public transport route.

We ask that you commit to at least one full day a week on a regular day – commitment is important as we will rely on you. You need to be able to commit to the day and the time.  Reliability is crucial.

We have a very structured way of doing everything.  We will provide all training and then expect our volunteers to follow our procedures for the health and wellbeing of the volunteers, staff and especially the wildlife.

What is the recruitment process?

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Your application will be reviewed
  3. If successful, you will be invited for an on-the-job interview
  4. If successful, you will be offered a volunteering role

If you are unsuccessful at any stage of the process, you will be informed.

We couldn’t run HAWR without volunteers and are grateful for your interest.

If you want to support in other ways or roles not listed please email workingwithus@hawr.co.uk.
