Who We Are...
Wild About Wildlife. Serious About Saving It
Harper Asprey Wildlife Hospital is run by the registered charity Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue. We provide emergency veterinary care, treatment and rehabilitation for sick, injured and orphaned British wildlife, with the aim of returning each animal to the wild wherever possible.
With more than 30 years of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation experience, we bring together veterinary expertise, practical knowledge and a deep commitment to the animals in our care.
Professional Veterinary Care
Our veterinary facilities are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and inspected by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).
Our full-time veterinary surgeons have access to surgical facilities, X-ray, ultrasound, blood diagnostics and intensive care. These facilities allow us to assess injuries, diagnose illness and provide treatment tailored to each patient.
Care continues beyond the surgery. Our rehabilitation areas give recovering animals the space and support they need to regain the strength, mobility and natural behaviours essential for life in the wild.
Dedicated to Wildlife — 24 Hours a Day, 365 Days a Year
Our work continues around the clock, every day of the year.
From tiny dormice and hedgehogs to bats, birds, foxes, badgers and deer, every species matters. Each patient receives care appropriate to its condition, needs and stage of recovery.
Thousands of wild animals come through our doors each year. Behind many of these admissions is someone who cared enough to stop and seek help for an animal in distress.
Rescue. Treat. Rehabilitate. Release. Refine. Educate.
These six principles guide our work.
We rescue animals in distress, provide veterinary treatment and support their recovery through appropriate rehabilitation. When an animal is ready, we plan its release into a suitable environment where it has the best possible chance of surviving independently.
We continually refine our methods, drawing on experience and veterinary knowledge to improve the care we provide.
Education is equally important. Through wildlife talks, schools, community groups and public engagement, we share practical ways to protect British wildlife and reduce avoidable harm. Our aim is to care for today’s casualties while helping prevent tomorrow’s.
Caring for Wildlife, Together
Our veterinary team, staff and volunteers work together to provide this specialist service for our local community and beyond.
We support members of the public, veterinary practices and emergency services, including the police and fire and rescue services, and assist the RSPCA when wildlife needs help.
As a charity, we rely on donations and fundraising to keep the hospital operating. Every contribution helps provide veterinary treatment, medicines, specialist food, equipment and safe rehabilitation facilities.
Every rescue begins with someone caring enough to act. With your support, we can give sick, injured and orphaned wildlife the best possible chance of returning to the wild.
Caring for Wildlife, Together
