Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La and  Ti came from a building site. Two young men had removed a wall and as it came down a fox cub tumbled out. Small dark and brown and with her eyes shut she had entered the world from her safe den in a flash. The entire area had been dug from the other side and there was no den left apart from this tiny pocket that had hugged the wall.  Six more cubs followed and after an extensive search it was agreed there were no more. It’s awful to remove cubs from an areas as you know distressed vixen will be searching for them. These were pretty healthy cubs with full tummies but no home. We didn’t even have the chance to try and get them back with mum as the whole area was devastated. Mum had given them the best start  but now we were going to have to be Mum. How well can we do and how much can we teach the young cubs and how will they develop  – we are second best butis that  good enough.
